Ooooh!!! Careful what you're asking for, Durgan. You wouldn't get what the UK looks like - oh no. You'd get photos of people peeing on their compost, shovelling out their composting toilets, and beating recalcitrant rhubarb with broomsticks. Maybe a couple of souls dancing widdershins around their apple trees. Talking to their chickens, too - I ask you

They're a queer lot on here

I haven't got a digital camera. Everyone else in this household has, mind, but not me, and I really can't be doing with the whole business of photographing everything in sight. I'm not keen on that new-fangled moving kettle of Mr Stephenson's neither.

Pictures may say a thousand words, but a few lines of prose can open up a world of imagination.

Like many on this forum I guess, we don't do things like try to upload photos that often. I've managed to do it once or twice, but tried to do it the other day but couldn't get it to work, spent an hour going through previous threads and searching for emails from MMM, but all to no avail.
Please will someone kindly post an authoritative step by step guide to uploading a photo to this forum. When it has been thoroughly snagged by simpletons like me, perhaps it could be added to the home page or board index where it can be easily found.

I'm with you on that, Graham. I must have been told a gazillion times how to do it, but I can never remember or find the info when I need it - so the piccy never gets put up.

Get the photo on your hard drive.
Open it up and resize it to less than 140kb? ( if you double click on the photo in browser it should go into and editing thing, then find the resize button)
Then when you do your post, go on full editor, right down the bottom there are some tabs, I think it's the second one one, upload attachment, click on this, browse your hard drive for the picture, click it, ok it, wait for it to load up, preview to make sure it's there, tick some buttons if it's only a link and you want it inline.
Something like that anyway, the hard bit is the resizing. I just did it, and at 25% it was 43kb.

Good Lord! I can do it! Here's a picture of me settling a disagreement with a neighbour only last week. He should retain use of three of his limbs. It's how we do things around here.

Well, that's kids these days for you. Starched white linen pants. I make do with a couple of bits of badger skin salvaged from road kill.

for an easy resize I use Picasa (free download from Google). When you're in the programme select your desired image then hit the envelope icon to email it as an attachment. Picasa automatically resizes it, just address the email to yourself. When you receive your email (or if it's taking ages get it from sent items) and save the attachment to your desktop. The rest is as Boboff describes.

Far easier with Picasa is to open an account with Picasa Web as well, then all you have to do is copy and paste the URL address into your posting, put the Image

I tried, but it is difficult to make a horse drink if he/she is not thirsty.
