Yes, ours was commercial, pre-washed quinoa and still needed the soak - I wasn't suggesting replacing the wash. It makes you wonder how anyone decided it was good for cultivating and eating - foaming at the mouth isn't a good intro.

Real Seed Co used to have details about washing immediately after harvest, but now just mention that it needs "washing" before eating.
We shall see how the washing machine tip works, although I suppose if I were really mean I would add it to a cool wash and make use of the saponins
