lets see the argument in pojnt 6 is that as they are 'non-western' stations and therefore the measurements are likely to be suspect.... and point 1 - doomsday.... did they really have great instruments for recording temperature then?

and point 8 - the Kyoto agreement might well be bad for economy - i was under the impression that th K agreement was about global warming.. not commerical interests....

Hey 9Balls, I have a hellava hard job findin enough use for 2 old ones. And is there any chance you could send all your sheep's farts over here as we have just had the coldest December for over 60 years.

Anyway ewe jokers, don't get me wrong, I am all in favour of healthy living and looking after the environment. I am dead against chemical farming and over use of oil, but I don't like being taken for a ride by money hungry multi international companies. All this carbon credit exchange crap was first put forward by the biggest fraudsters in all history, the Enron Corporation.

Now Andy, you seem to be so sure that the polar ice caps are melting, well the bugger down south here is gettin bigger and thicker. The only increase in temperature in Antarctica is on the peninsular that sticks up towards South America. The rest are showing about the same or a decrease in the last 50 odd years. Whats more, there is an increase of snow falls being recorded so the ice cover is getting deeper.

and see is you can find any real trend of an increase. Sure some have gone up a bit but most have not.

But once again, yes we are stuffin this earth up, yes we are raping it and it's resorces and it is all so that a very few can get more and more of the artificial money in their dirty little hands, and yes we should colectively and individually do our best to stop all that and look after the only chunk of rock we have to live on. But no, we should not allow ourselves to be hood winked into believing a load of crap to get all frieghtened because that is what it is all about, frieghtened people are easier to control.

And Martin, there is a good chance that I have lived as long as you and the hottest years that I can remember were in the late 1940's and early 50's. and back then they were blaming the war for the weather, then they changed and blamed it on the bomb testing.

Our hottest day ever recorded here was in 1926 and our coldest day recorded was in 1993, and that must go along well with the scare tactics being used on us now.
