Well yes, I'm not surprised !
Cos it's a "vinegar mother" not a mother of anything !:bom: :bom:
dear me,
(end pedant mode)
:-) :)

It makes one wonder how the ancients managed when there wasnt a shop just down the road or online !
Although, I suppose it was much like a ginger beer plant, everyone had one to give away !!

>monkey wee

I couldnt possibly comment !

Thinks,, I'm new here,, I wonder if ginger beer plants have been discussed,,, I feel a search imminent,
because all the plants in the UK seem to be just yeast based things that sit at the bottom pretty uninspiring and rather inert, but those of my youth were busy entertaining things, a bit like a Lava Lamp, globs and strings floating up and down in the jar, a bit like bees wine .

My ginger beer was just ginger, yeast and sugar...

I'd love to get hold of some bees yeast, but it seems virtually impossible!

Back to Vinegar - have a look in the RRR seciotn, i thini i posted about some bottles of red wine on there. There are some links in the thread about making your own vinegar from wine.

Oh ! My apologies to Wombat for my attempt at pedantic humour,

Touches forhead with thumb, and offers glass of blackberry wine to Wombat :)

That ebay item was a good price I thought, I wonder if our coustoms would have a heart attack if I ordered some ? !

I think I prefer my wine to be drinkable, but it would be interesting to do the vinegar thing at least once !
