What a good idea! I always make too much jam.
We`ve got loads of soft fruit but don`t eat jam much so it sits in the pantry looking pretty.

That jam wine sounds cool! Do u use homemade or shop bought stuff? Does it turn out to be really fruity tasting? Wondering on some marmalade wine now - reckon that would be a bit different!

Bought some tinned strawberries today to have a go at some wine but cant havent found a recipe yet :roll:

if you have a copy, just follow CJJ Berry's recipe for tinned peaches in his First Steps in Winemaking.
If you don't have a copyof the book, then let me know and I'll post in here.

Hiya, Yes I have that book - dont know how many variations of tinned I looked up in the index (except peach!) and still couldnt find it. Thanks for that

Does it have that sugary caramelly cooked taste of jam?

I use lidl raspberry jam to make my wine. I didn't have enough home made. I made it October so it's still maturing. From what I remember it had a great hit of raspberry (that'll be the raspberry jam I used:o)
No caramel taste, but then I don't get that taste from jam either. :?
