I've heard quite a lot of references to this. I haven't had a good look yet but it appears to cover many people's circumstances. I'm thinking about making strong shopping bags, as at last the idea is catching on. I'm sure there's a market for them.

Just looked at that link and alarm bells started going off... I don't trust that type of site... spooks me to much and reminds me of pyramid schemes '5 easy ways to make money without leaving your desk'... hmmm I am VERY sceptical...

Anyways...

Zoe... I used to run my own business, so I do have book-keeping experience - pretty sure that I did a course actually - it was a lifetime ago... I honestly don't remember... :?

Not good with animals... or I should say... not good with 'pets' we have a cat, but she leads her own life... don't really curl up on the sofa together.

My phone doesn't work, and I am not very good with the public... that is, with certain members of the public... Farmers market clientelle would suit me nicely  I worked in a 'fashion' store for 4 years; Ladieswear clientelle were awful, Kidswear and Menswear clientelle were lovely.

I reckon I could do proof-reading and typing stuff... never thought about it before... I might look into it... thankyou.

That website actually had some good ideas. There was a very interesting section on home cooking.

Yes, it was for the range of ideas I thought it had some use.

I had that idea too - but notaclue how to sell - might crochet some old fashioned 'net' shoppers as well.

I've done many 'homework' jobs whilst my two were small - problem is finding something that the kids won't play with and damage - and is also not dangerous to them (sewing was a trial - they did like to find pins  )

OK... you win... it is quite a good site after all. I am such a sceptic  I see 'easy ways to earn money' and I run a mile... like the signs that you see on lamposts...
Once someone tried to convince me to sell smoothies, they were selling the 'lifestyle' and tried to recruit me... it was like a cult and frightened me.

I am going to look into some of the ideas

:flower:

At one farmers Market I visited a lady was selling strong cotton shoppers for a tenner each. They were nice, and they varied, but must have cost very little to make, and minimal skill. Recycled fabric would be perfect for them, which would make them cost next to nothing.

I don't blame you for being a bit wary of some of the stuff on the site. I wouldn't go in with anyone selling anything.

Check out the markets first, though. Around here they all sell very good and strong bags for £1 - you'd find it difficult to compete with that.

I don't know if this is any use to you but a really good work from home opportunity is Any Questions Answered. I do this in the evenings after my sons are in bed & make reasonable money from it.

OH has made cards before - the blanks/envelopes are cheap and there's oodles of stuff to embelish them with rangingfrom stuff you can scavenge off the beach/woods etc. to down right expensive stuff.

He always has some in his desk at work and has helped lots of people out of a sticky situation when they have forgotten an anniverary or birthday and remembered at 5 to 5 just before going home!

(I find his box of ready made cards very useful too ) The market on eBay for selling cards is quite saturated though. Local shops/friends are, he found the best customers! I can get him to come up with some suppliers web links if you fancy it.

You could probably make them out of old sheets from charity shops. You'd get a good amount of patterns/frills etc too. Often, you can get whole sets for £4, and they've got either really handy pillowcases that just need a handle, or pillowcases/valance sheets with little motifs that can be patchworked on.

I haven't sold any personally yet... but i did get some lovely sheets at a charity shop...they ended up on my bed instead of in the fabric stash.

I find a well stocked bedding cupboard looks a little less like a well stocked fabric stash

I still owe people bags...need to get some time to finish them!!

Haha, i have some pairs of cords for the same reason... they're cleverly hidden on the 'mending' pile, rather than in the fabric cupboard...

I've got a pair of cords that i used for a patchwork rug, and i kept the waisband to make a skirt with...they're beige cord, and i wanted to make a layered patchwork skirt to go with it, but i'm useless at waistbands, so i thought i'd keep this old waistband and reuse it...wonder where its gone now...
