Out walking monday and today found a large plant pot ideal for my tomato or chillie plant, also a squashed hanging basket hoping to pull in back in to shape to plant some strawberries

nope it's now a small frame around which I wrapped a tight warp and started weaving in the odd balls of handspun. The pipe lends itself to turning the worked area around so leaving space to work more in
(I'm sure there's a more 'conventional' way of warping but I haven't worked that out yet)

am now on the look out for longer pieces of pipe

I also found a quite nice pair of solid silver earings about six months after we moved in, the odd thing was that they were hanging up on a nail in one of the garages.
Also found a swiss army penknife in one of the paddocks, must have been there a while as the joints were a little stiff (nothing a bit of oil couldn't sort out), but as it was a victorinox, evverything else was still in perfect condition.

Nothing! That'll be because I live in the middle of the countryside and people don't litter round here!

I love finding stuff but haven't found much lately...
I found a big metal link thing on the beach on a plated rope strap thing that looked quite useful for something so it came home with me just in case .. the hubby was impressed but I still don't know what it's good for.

Found a dog lead on another beach.


I was trying on a rain jacket my sis left with me nearly four years ago the other day and found two $5 notes and a tissue in one of the pockets so that was nice!

Can't think of much else, will go away and have a think.

A very old rose bush in a skip which is now growing happily in a pot and a good condition coat so far this year.

There's a skip down the road where someone's having building work done so I shall check that out soon as well (I'll be good and ask before I take anything though )

i havent found anything recently but when everyone here was having their earthquake damaged repaired we got hundreds of plant pots out of skips and heaps of polystyrene in order to make a haybox cooker (although of course we havent got round to that yet......). also found some fantastic double glazed windows but didnt have anywhere to put them so we had to leave those in the skip which was a big shame. the owner of the skip looked at us like dirt when he saw us craning our necks out of the car window to have a nose at what was in there anyway!

I found a sort of trellis that I am going to run our grape vine up. It still had the stickers on it, never been used wood. People throw out anything, makes me sick really. Also have 7 bikes in the back garden that I found and have been in the process of doing up for the last few years. managed to make one up and gave it away.

Some oval pieces of clear glass for etching on, a car full of mill ends in a bin for firewood, the lumber from an old shed to make our new woodshed, a desk, and 2 doors for the other sheds we'll be building.

I've been given, a denim skirt, a soap dish shaped like a and several dozen egg cartons.

And I had to pay $12 CDN , but I finally have an Ameracauna rooster.

I need to find a goat or two and a couple of pigs when we get the pens and buildings ready for them.

Great finds everyone! In the area I live going to the local landfill is often frustrating and sometimes a costly venture. Going in we need to drive onto a weigh scale. If we are over the allowed weight we pay the required amount. Also need to be weighed leaving--perish the thought of actually taking something we could use!! It didn't use to be this way. Years ago there were oodles of things folks found. But many communities are running out of space for landfill sites, so there have been more restrictions placed on what can be taken. Granted hazardous waste such as chemicals, leftover vehicle oil, paints etc. are not allowed and do go to a hazardous waste recycling center, but I will never make sense of the reasoning that if someone could find a use for anything there whether it be an old bicycle or TV cabinet why not be allowed to take it--even if we ask nicely? What's next--hiring someone to guard with a shotgun!!

2 kids Easter baskets (empty) in a ditch, they will do for setting plants in or carrying in herbs from the garden

I'm for ever picking up small change off the pavements - once found a tenner in a large shopping centre! It paid off the money that the grandson owed me even though he thought he was getting it to spend again.
