Is there a human equivalent of Frontline? I know of people who have used this in extreme situations, but I'm not sure it is recommended!

same here I know shepherds who use 'Spot On' but I don't fancy that at all who Knows what it will do to you in 20 years time

Me I work on the theory that if I get bitten enough times my body will build up some kind of immunity or at least tollerance, though as with most things I say it's probably cr4p as I've certainly not built up any immunity or tollerance to the dreaded Scottish midge which arrived yesterday

the thing to look for aparently is a bull's eye shaped welt where one has been bitten by the tick. it's vivid red in the middle, then has a ring of white or normal flesh colour, then a red hives like rash. this means there's a high change that tick was carrying lyme disease; at that early stage it IS treatable, but welts like that can often be hidden by hair.
(who else watched scrubs last night?!)
