It's weird round here - the elder's really going over just nearby, but 6-7 miles down the road at DD's school it's just coming out. Picked some lovely fresh heads for making Red's 'champagne'. How long is it likely to be before the bottles get very tight - a day or two or a week or two?? Never made it before so not sure what to expect.
oh probably a week.. depends how warm the room they are in.
and you have to let the bottles go tight for a bit.. cos if you open and its all fizzy and lovely... but then the bubbles die down.. then you have tried it a tad too soon.. I tend to do this with my first batch every year cos I want my elderflower champagne! but don't worry.. just put the top back on and wait another couple of days.

Well, 'tis done, in the four 1L old orange juice bottles I bought last year on a bogof with this sort of thing in mind - sod the OJ, I wanted the bottles!
I relaised the moment it was too late that I would have been better using white sugar than brown but there we are, it'll add a certain je ne sais quoi!
