1. The human population will come to it's senses stop killing each other and really start saving this plant.....chance would be a fine thing!!

2. The Olympics will become a terrorist hit.........oh what a lovely world we live in

All pretence that the olympics are about human endevour will be abandoned and the event will be sponsored solely by drugs companies competing to find the most outrageous combination of stimulants.

No-one at all will bother watching it.

Heck, I'm not going to bother watching 2008. Partly because it is being held in China to kow-tow to a fairly unpleasent regime, partly because everything will be on at 3am and partly because it is deathly boring.

Why is hosting it seen as a good thing again?

I know you're probably using rhetoric, but its all about Big Shiny Money!
Bring back the barter system is what I say! And while we're at it, return the Olympics to its former glory by making it more like the original games! It'd be much shorter, plus naked races and oil-wrestling!

I happen to really enjoy the winter olympics, the summer ones, not so much.
I love watching those lunatics on the skeleton bob (basically going down a toboggan track on a tea tray) and I have been known to stay up to the wee hours to watch curling -then it was one of the few opportunities a Scot has to support the winning side
Might need to get a TV for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Toronto (? I think)

As for other 2012 predictions

I predict... E will turn 6 and we will eat fruit off of our own fruit trees

And it'll all be in countries with warm climate, so won't bother us much!

From what I hear, Britain's not going to change that much...
