Does that apply to "mince & tatties" too ?

I agree with you that perpetual growth is impossible, the only reason for this sustained period of growth since the 70's is all down to China and to a lesser extent, other far eastern countries keeping us all supplied with cheap goods at the expense of their own people and especially children.
It would have kept on going for a few more years yet had it not been for those greedy bankers (cockney rhyming slang  )

I'm riding a big personal financial hit at present. I have Chronic Fatigue, and haven't been able to work for 8 months. No work = no pay :(

I'm trying to get my house sold here, and I'm planning to rent a farm cottage with a bit of land. A polytunnel, a few hens, and some bee keeping are the plan - building up as I feel able to manage. I'm really looking forward to it, and I'm very happy to put consumerism behind me!

I'm very much looking forward to getting stuck into this:

What I have never understood about economics is that it is a man-made (or should that be person-made) concept and yet it is apparently completely beyond our control! Doesn't make any sense to me!

Yeah and to hear talk of it you'd think it was some kind of sentient being! Balls to it, I'm hiding up my mountain!

I think for once you're safe to use man-made. Sorry to say, but there really aren't enough women in senior positions to blame the fairer sex for this particular balls-up. Perahps therein lies the problem.

Whereas I can blame the fairer sex for the complete disappearence of my van keys. Who was the last person to drive it? Me? Eh- no! DW has gorn orf to Manchester for a family wedding with the two eldest leaving me with the two-year-old. We are having a high old time

But don't tell anyone. I wish to maintain the fiction that men find childcare neither entertaining nor straightforward :dave:

Email read out on the morning news programme today......

Man says he'd rather go through a divorce than a recession.... at least with a divorce he's still lost half of everything, but at least he'd be rid of the wife as well.......

Ha, just thought I'd try & lighten the mood.....
