I think probably the best way to spread it around is to run a rotavator through a clump :lol:

I broke a piece of root off mine 2 weeks ago when I was (roughly) cutting it.
I potted up the bits and I now have a veritable forest of shoots coming up.

And that's Russian comfrey that is sterile, I'm not sure I would want an English one that spreads by seed as well.
