Hey there and welcome! I had a look at Solio but got two pauses - one for the price and one for the thought of whether the purchase would be worth it in terms of how much energy it would take to produce both it and the accessories, plus postage, during the lifetime of an iPod which is about 3 years (assuming 90% functionality at end of extended warranty (2yrs))
Anybody got any thoughts on this?

Yes Greenie works just fine
(STHLM is short for Stockholm where I live)

About the Solio, the thing that attracted me is that they've already considered that by offseting the carbon dioxide produced when it was manufactured.

from solio.com:
"The amount of energy used to create your Solio has been negated by removing unsustainable processes and, with the help of Future Forests, by planting trees in a protected, bio-diverse, sustainable forest. This means that your Solio is a net producer of energy from the very start."

Any if I think of how many times I'll charge my ipod and my mobile phone (you can get extra tips for mobile phones) I think its a good investment. The cost is an issue but there's always ebay.

There is also the cool factor as a lot of environmentally sound products don't always look the best and the fact that I won't need to buy or take travel chargers with me when I travel.
