OK - I am definitely old - a nice cup of tea solves everything, taking my coat off when I step inside anywhere so that I feel the benefit, always having a tissue in my pocket and going to bed at 8.30 for the last couple of nights (although that last one may be due to recovering from flu this week).

I played Janet in a youth theatre production of Rocky Horror at the Rep in Birmingham when I was 17. - so perhaps I was cool once upon a time after all

I joined the library just the other day. The nice lady explained everything to me, including telling me that if anything was overdue, I'd be fined, but that would stop in May. I asked her why that should happen in May. She looked me straight in the eyes (with a hint of manic glee, I'm convinced) and said "You'll be sixty".

So when you are 60 and you have kept a book for too long from the library, you have a good excuse and that is because you are now 60 and....forgetful? Whoa! That is crazy, no?
I realized I was not so young anymore when I started falling asleep in front of the TV, like my mum used to do...
But based on what I have read, I must have been old for way longer...

I do that as well - it is blooming annoying when I'm watching something good, drop off and miss the end!

I knew I was getting old when I realised that when I get home, I can't wait to take my boots off and put my slippers on!

When I was young, my mum and dad used to drag me round garden centres at the weekend and I used to practically eat the plants out of boredom. I used to drag my feet in my misery, and howl I'mmm soooo boooored when are we going hoooooome. I decided at that point that I would officially be old and past it and my life would essentially be over when I started going to garden centres willingly without being dragged there.

Just made me think of it because I'm off there now . Perhaps I'll call in somewhere for a blue rinse and the latest People's Friend on the way home.

(At least I'll get my library fines written off when I get to 60, though! There's something to look forward to!).

I found myself quoting Gardeners Question Time. In a garden center at 9.30am. Whilst debating the reletive merits of various varieties of potatoes.
10years ago I'd have still been in bed wondering who I could copy the notes from for the Immunology lecture I'd missed because I hadn't got in till 4 in the morning!

Definitely. My FIL is 84 and has one every day.

One of my colleagues recently fell asleep in a team meeting and started snoring which was hilarious. Pleased to say it wasn't me speaking at the time.

Hmm well, I got much to excited last week about buying a new kettle. It was the level of excitement that used to be reserved for going to a gig or buying shoes.

I think I knew I was getting older when I could no longer manage to go out both Friday and Saturday night (in fact some weeks I can't manage either). On Friday I have reluctantly agreed to go to a club for a friend's birthday, I nearly cried when I found out it doesn't open till 10pm and am already wondering how early I can leave without looking rude! I am also panicking about what to wear and that at aged 31 I will probably double the average age in the club...

We're now barely on speaking terms with a "friend" who got really upset with us for leaving her birthday party after 5 hours! The problem was it started at 6pm. And we had an hours drive to get there (and the return journey to look forward too of course). She'd planned a whole evenings entertainment but after all that time we'd just had enough.

The upsetting part is, it was her 60th and she was just revving up for the rest of the festivities as we were crawling out! We were the first to leave (including the families with toddlers:lol:
