What can you see from your window?
Re: What can you see from your window?
That's nice to see, demi.
We were, not so long ago, on the verge of losing wood pigeons in the UK. I could never understand why, because they are absolutely beautiful birds (if anyone would take the time to stand and stare). We now have an entire colony and, OK, they eat your brassicas. But fleece isn't expensive, and if you let them hang around you're rewarded with some amazing colours when the sun catches them. Plus some quite amusing courting displays.
I like 'em.

We have a few of them in our garden in the UK. They like to land on the corrugated plastic roof we've got over the patio. I swear one day one of them is going to go through!
I'm pretty convinced that they only do it to annoy the dog...

Thanks, Fee and MMM. The new pond has really matured since it was built and you won't be able to see the gravel in the herb bed in a couple of months. It's amazing how quickly it all grows. I only had it done two years ago.
I did wait until a kind friend had cut the grass before taking these photos though. Last week it was so long, the cats couldn't see over it. I had to keep rescuing them from getting lost

From my back window - my coriander pot knocked over and smashed by the foxes.
From my front window - the local yoof hanging about in the rain.
Hate this thread, feeling really miserable and jealous now...

When we had the loft conversion I designed it so I knew exactly what it would look like, what I couldn't imagine were the brilliant views: remember Muddy House is only 10 mins from Leicester city center! (Our garden runs down to the row of Leylandii) MW

Just because you see two eyes shining in the jungle at night, do not think that the worse thing that could happen is that you are about to be attacked by a tiger. It could be two one-eyed tigers.

Tony's loch is a bit bigger than mine, Bill. It's called the Atlantic!

This is from my back window. It's called Croagh Patrick where it is said that St.Patrick stayed for 40 days casting out snakes, voles and demons.Perhaps he should come back to get rid of the mink.

No I won't use a smiley because I've decided to turn into Boboff, as he's turned all nice all of a sudden. Grumble grumble.

View from my solar powered music studio 'the Green Machine'. The lizard was sitting on the screen as an extra way to keep mosquitos out

sunday morning early there was a Roe deer browsing on the railway embankment behind the house, I didn't dare move as I was just outside the back door and he was only about five yards from me
