Just popped in for a quick look-see and to PM thanks to a few people, but couldn't resist this one.
I don't do suppers. Big morning teas or afternoon teas, slap-up lunches, huge dinners, and romping, stomping outdoor parties are my thing.
So, I'd clear the steading, put a pig on a spit, make a huge mutton or goat curry, roast mounds of potatoes in the coals, and then have tables groaning with other goodies (fidget pie for Shirlz included!).
Kegs of homebrewed stout, cider and nettlebeer on tap, a band to dance to and another to eat to, and then who to invite?
Easy, Andy and Dave for a start, then as many Ishers as we can cram into the space. And we have a lot of space with lots of camping places out in the field (and yes, I know a man with a Portaloo or two). There's an airport nearby for the international brigade (yes, I know, but we're permitted one last party before "THE FALL" :) ), and a train station in Insch for the UK contingent.
That would be my idea of a supper party! And a great way of saying thanks, too.
And yes, I am improving a bit but am still decidedly unwell.

I don't know why I did not think of this one before but I forgot Eric Arthur Blair - better known as George Orwell. I am reading Road to Wigan Pier at the moment and have recently (re)read Animal Farm and DOwn and out in London and Paris. He is someone that has experienced most walks of life and has strong ideals and opinions would be great to share a beer with him and see what he thinks of the world today, I imagine that he would see elements of the 1984 Dystopia here but perhaps with elements of Huxleys (one his school teachers) Brave new world.
