Sorry - going back to the OP
Hawthorn - you want to make sure your peelings and tea bags and such that you're putting into your compost is chopped up small - it makes it easier to break down and do all that lovely composting stuff, especially egg shells.
Obviously you can rip open teabags, I just get my kitchen scissors and snip all the peelings etc etc into my little compost tupperware tub, pop the lid on and empty every evening.
Just a little tip I wanted to share with you.

Amazing how compost always gets so much 'talk' going don't you think!
I try to compost almost everything (everything either us, the dog or the horse won't eat) but I do wonder if green potatoes are a good idea as they grow
Am I risking blight, using up all my goodness?
Do I just carry on composting them til the slugs eventually eat them?
Is there actually a better use for green potatoes I have never thought of?
Regardless I do love composting and am really close to peeing on it
