It seems to happen a lot! I get into self sufficiency and green issues, and suddenly, its everywhere. I get into knitting, and all these new 'hip' knitting magazines come out...i think there must be spies watching me...

Dh is always inventing brilliant new "green" things, then finding out a week later that someone has brought out this brilliant new "green" thing...that he just invented...

It does happen a lot, and I am convinced I have been bugged or microchipped or something. Like I said, I am zeitgeisty rather than cool, but it is still annoying to find your way of life suddenly this season's way to be (I bloomin' hate greenwashing, and although dh says "No it's good, as it gets it out there to the coke and wotsit brigade," it just doesn't then all the green things bought as this season's must have are jettisoned as last season's must have)

I think I need "knitwear therapy"...............in theory I should be all for hand-knitted stuff, but was mentally scarred for life with knitted garments as a child..........I was "blessed" with several aunts who reckoned they were dab hands with knitting needles - EVERY christmas and birthday there would be what seemed like hundreds of ghastly lumpy woollies, cardigans, gloves, scarves etc, which you HAD to wear to show how grateful you were............and write "thankyou notes".........I have a feeling one of them had bought a barnful of the most awful bluey maroon wool, as she used it for years.........I think what finished me off were knitted wool swimming trunks...........
(I still have nightmares!)

Love it - yes I remember hand knitted trouser suits in the 60s! oh god and the thank you notes - sitting staring at them not having a clue what to write. Dear Aunty Mabel, thank you for the nice handkerchiefs.........

incidentally our new car had R4 as its default radio setting..... it's a volvo. does that mean anything?!

Our volvo is a second (at least) 740 and it had had a "Save the Lifeboats" RNLI sticker in the back window. I think it is against the law not to sport one in a volvo...

I'd love to listen to Clive Bull on LBC, but their internet streams don't seem to work well for me.

Have to tried them recently?

You missed radio 3! Late Junction is the best eclectic mix radio show on the air Love the Freak Zone on 6 too. Apart from that I listen to 4! yep, old fart!!

My dial moved from Radio 1 when it stopped being a music station. Anyway, even Radio 1 gets old. It's the same age as me.

I stopped listening to Radio One the day DLT jumped ship, never was a cool teenager, always listened to 2 and 4, have gradually grown to adore 1940s radio too
