Milk, without plastic, is an impossibility for a townie like me

I used to think that and bemoaned the loss of the milkman. About a year ago a local dairy pushed a leaflet through my door and now I get all my milk delivered, in glass bottles with foil caps.

Have you tried this website? http://www.findmeamilkman.net/default.aspx it helps you to find a local milkman. A trawl through various post codes seem to come up with Dairy Crest and Independent Dairies so you could try googling both to see if they deliver in your area.

Well, you'd have to do the slaughter yourself, too, if you want to avoid that last bag...

I've not ready every single post in this thread but I assume that you know that the plastic wrappers of loo or kitchen rolls can be recycled in the carrier bag recycling collection point, same with many plastic bags which contain magazines (certain Sunday supplements are guilty of this one!).

As a household of 2 adults, 1 young child, 1 dog, 4 guinea pigs, 4 rabbits & 1 hamster we produce very very little waste. I have been fanatical about recycling since I left home 16 years ago. I'm still seeking ways to cut down further and learn something new on here just about every day
