Hello all, thought I'd introduce myself. My name is Lauram I live in co Cork Ireland with my partner and 2 kids. I have a 3 year old daughter and a 14 week old wee boy. We are trying to become more ish as we think it's def the way to go and what we would like to teach our kids. I am a stay at home mummy, but am involved with lots of community stuff and do a little bit p/t at home for a charity. But child raising is definitely top of my agenda and I love spending time with my kids. My dp is quite a bot older than I am and unfortunatley has a very bad back and has suffered with chronic depression for about 20 years. He has been having treatment for the last year and the difference in him is incredible. He's also really getting into being ish and I think he gets some satisfaction from being able to provide for his family even though he can't physically go out to work.
So far we have:
converted to cloth ( I have swaddlebee's BTP which I LOVE!!!)
only use soda and vinegar for cleaning
reuse, remake and recycle wherever we can
have a couple of chickens
grow as much fruit and veg as we can and are looking to expand this
make our own bread
buggy as much as possible
and probably quite a few other things that I can't think of right now.
I would love to get rid of the TV, but there is no way DP would let me do this. Partly cause I watch too much myself when I could be doing other things (like painting) but then by the time bath time is over I'm so shattered it's a much easier option.
Well, that's us...
love the forum and looking forward to chatting with you all hugs Laura x
