Blood on the wallpaper??!

Don't ask me how it happened, as I certainly don't know. But there is a very blood like looking stain on our wallpaper and I need advice on how to get rid of it. If worst comes to the worst I could paint over it but I have the day off tomorrow and intend to scrub down the bathroom (where the offending stain is) so would like to try and get it sorted then.

Any ideas?!?! I know its a weird one, but all the internet can offer me is advice on how to get blood stains out of carpets and clothes!

Uuurrrrrmmm!?

As it is on wall paper there is a very high chance you will end up rubbing a hole in it I would just admit defeet and get the paint out.

Sorry i cant be help you with that one.

I have to say I'm unsure how it would work but you put salt on bloodstains in textiles. Maybe a saline spray, wet it then put some white fabric or paper on it to soak it up or something like that might work, but Eve's right - you can't really scrub it.

I've heard that if you get blood on your clothes it comes out if you suck the stain - it's a saliva thing apparently  . I know it may not be very lady-like but you could try spitting on it and working it in with your finger  .

Let us know if something you try works :sunny:

There's only one cure - get someone to bleed all over the rest of the wallpaper.

 I thought Rosendula was going to tell you to lick the wall there for a moment, Emma!!

A drop of vodka might do the trick..... but if I was you, I'd paint the wall & drink the vodka!

Julie.

If its not from your family, or has been there since before you moved in, please wear gloves! Don't touch the blood, and when cleaning it up, try to use something fairly strong like bleach or sterilising solution.

In the studio, we have washable painted walls, but usually a spray of chamicals (we have surgical spirit, barbicide and tattooists green soap) washed thoroughly and then soaked off with tissue does the job.

Hi Fee thanks for the concern! But it definitely only appeared since I've lived there! But i was wearing gloves anyway to be on the safe side!

It came off surprisingly easily in the end, I just used the generic bathroom cleaner that I made myself with Faith in Nature washing up liquid and a bit of tea tree oil, gave it a quick wipe and it was gone. There is a very faint stain but the wallpaper is old and woodchip so it's only noticeable if you know its there!

another method could have been to rub the dried blood with bread. This also gets lipstick off shirt collars!!
