Watching It's not easy being green last night I thought that I'd have a go at Dick Strawbridge's green test to see how many plents I use. But after faffing around the bbc website for a while I couldn't get to a website for the program to find the tes...all i could get was the iplayer of past episodes.
anyone got a link to the test itself?
thanks

he said on the first episode that it was the WWF one - try googling it. I have done a few, the WWF one doesn't recognise that you grow your own veg and seems to think going nowhere by bus or train is bad for the environment...... well yeah, but only if you go places by car (I don't - I spend 90% of my time at home, and I walk or cycle around the area.

but like Annpan points out (and to be fair so did Dick) it don't take into account what you are already doing.

Apparently, growing my own fuel, using only solar as a back-up, growing my own veg, driving a small car less than 4000miles a year, buying only secondhand, never flying, etc etc etc STILL means I need 1.62 planets!!!
This just means people will feel there's no hope & give up

thanks for the link. 1.68

although there wasn't an option for grow most of your own food which would probably have helped. and the advice it gave: "walk more" when I don't have a car, use the train for less than 2 hrs and never fly or use the bus seems a little stupid...what does it expect that I walk my 12mile each way journey ?

1.83 - clearly this thing is nonsense if you live outside the norm.
