Hi Gunners
It's a great idea - and perhaps we could rotate the venue so that it was held in a different place each time - thus making it fair to everyone travelwise.....
There are various green/farming/smallholding/gardening events throughout the year and around the country - perhaps we could list these and have mini-meets at these too.

We would love to be involved... and have a LARGE caravan so could put up people in the awning (with one or two extra kiddies inside!).
We'd be happy to travel in the UK.

I thought you were in Nottinghamshire, Gunners? Or are there two Worksops? Or am I getting very confused?

Because my in-laws live close to Worksop (I think) which is close to Mansfield. Or perhaps Notts is close to Sheffield?! Shall I just shut up and look at a map?!!

Well, Shirlz and myself have started with a mini-meet already... Plus the slightly bigger one in London. Yes, I'd love to meet more people!
As I told Andy last year (when he was still planning his round Britain cycle trip), I can put up a few people - the more, the less comfortable... So if anybody wants a bit of a "taste of Scotland" (seems to be a tourist board slogan, I think?), you are welcome. But finding an event to go to is a good idea, too.
In that context, the map as suggested by Shirlz would come in handy! We could just put a ruler to it and determine where the centre of selfsufficientish-land is, and aim for somewhere near there.

I had my 30th birthday
here it is a campsite with a woodland that is run as a charitable trust, so all camping costs pay for the woodland. It is a beautiful place too, otherwise I could get up to Nottingham and stay with mates if that is more central. - I guess we could see who definetly wants to come and work out the best location for all of us.

taking the meet to one of the gatherings would be a good way to get the selfsufficientish name noticed!!!!
There is the Big Green Gathering but that's down south... Andy... want me to set up the frappr map temporarily? You could always transfer the info from there to anything else you come up with.

Have you got any more info on the Big Green? First time I've heard about it.

Cheers, Shirley (well, should have thought of that myself, the name is pretty obvious, isn't it...
