Strange spam

This has me foxed.
Yesterday I was writing a reply on one of the threads on here and then hit the "preview" button as I always do and the first line of my message was how I wrote it but the second line read ....
"I am a dirty spammer, please report me to the moderators" and the rest of my reply had been deleted.
Has anybody else had this happen?
I'm not sure if someone had hacked into my computer while I was typing or quite what had happened, anyway it was most disconcerting.
I will certainly NOT miss out the preview of messages in future just in case it happens again.

Panic not - it is the naughty word censor picking something up.
Can you remember what it was you typed?

No, not really, although it certainly wasn't a "naughty" word as I'm one of those rare breed of men that doesn't even swear in the company of other men, let alone mixed company.
I was replying to the thread on UK in recession and I was commenting on what was the difference between trading on the stock market and <censored>, and how one is viewed as respectable and the other not.
Perhaps "stockbroker" is now a naughty word along with "banker"
YES ... I can now, as I was explaining what I was replying to it happened again, I can't tell you what the word is as it deletes it
But the <censored> word above is what people do in a betting shop and begins with "G" and rhymes with "rambling"

right - will check with the boss and see whether we can remove that one. g@mbling, g ambling, are ways around it so that you don't get the gambling message.

Good Lord! So it does! Are there any others in there that could have double meanings? If I were in all innocence to write a post about spiced pork products or a seaside town not a million miles from Hull that starts with "S" could I get a similar message???

I once had the word cocktail changed to wee willy tail

I'm not sure that's not worse! The change did net me a rather wonderful blokey tho - so good things come out of strange changes.
Right I'm going to be naughty and try it out

I think the word 'pron' and 'see you next Tuesday' do it, maybe a few others reffering to young girls

, We used to get a lot of spam about dodgy g ambling sites so thats why.

We've taken out most of the words in the word censor but a few remain generally pertaining to g ambling, p0rnography and drugs.

Yup! It really is a place! West of Driffield, Yorkshire!
There are also a few farms round here called The Gusset and there's a place called Good Wife Hot!

Why is "gambling" a naughty word?
I realise that there are a lot of dodgy sites about that spam but they usually avoid the word gambling and try to persuade you that skill is involved.
Glad to see it's been removed from the banned list anyway.
Thanks

Before the forum was upgraded we often had 20-50 spammers joining up EVERY SINGLE DAY

and no option but to delete them 'manually' which took hours of our time. Thankfully it is now much easier to delete them and theoretically they shouldn't be getting through with the letter and number code that you have to put in when you register, but some still do.
Anyway the main ones who spammed were p0rn sites, dodgy drug sites and gambling sites, therefore we banned many words like gambling, cas-ino and Tram-adol, and thus why you will sometimes get a word substitute of "I'm a dirty spammer......" or "dodgy drugs alert, please contact a moderator" etc.
