moody hen?

One of my girls has started to get a bit vicious. She pecked my baby daughter very close to the eye, she was crawling along the grass, has pecked me in the bum through a wooden slated garden chair   and today and just flew at me to standing head height scratching my arm in the process.
Is this normal? Is there anything I can do other than resorting to putting her in the pot? :pale: I wasn't really wanting to, but if she's getting vicious with my children I'm not happy

if you dont ahve a cockerel, sometimes one of the hens likes to assume teh role.. they might only bully the others, or they can attack ppl.

You can get over it by intimidating the hen, so she does not try it again.. but this might be tricky for you daughter to do, and often they have short attention spans.. so you have to do it all over again next visit.

I would consider getting rid of her personally. Or get a cockerel -they sort out the moody ones.. but can bring their own problems!

I've been a bit firm with her and she seems to have settled down a bit, she's a good layer, they both are, so I'm a bit reluctant to get rid of her unless I really have too. I'll just be extra wary when the kids are about to make sure she doesn't go near them
