Another rosehip one! Can I freeze hips?

I picked a few hips the other day, more for identification purposes (thanks Hedgehogpie for helping out!), but I haven't really got time to dry them at the moment, so will they be OK in the freezer until I go pick some more and make something from one of the million rosehip recipes I now have? (another  for Hedgehogpie)

It would be a good idea to process them first though*. That is, top, tail and then de-seed before packing into whatever container you plan to use. If you're able to freeze them loose before packing, so much the better as you can then weigh out exactly what you want to use & return the rest to the freezer without wastage.

*Time consuming and a bit itchy but worth the effort IMHO. Scatter the seeds you remove among your local hedgerows. You never know, some may take and then you'll have even more plants to forage from!
