Isn't it illegal to disallow meat eaters from applying for a job? :? I'm sure if a job was advertising for ''no vegetarians need apply' it wouldn't be allowed!!! My husband worked for a tobacco company but they allowed non-smokers to work there. :?

I suppose eating meat and working for animal welfare would be a conflict of interests.
Ask them if you're that bothered. It would be interesting to hear their reply.

I think they might get out of it because it is a fundamental belief of their charity/company that people shouldn't eat meat.

But, yes I see what you mean MMM

Well it isn't because tons of meat eaters must work in animal welfare! I was just wondering is all because in this day and age I didn't know that one was allowed to discrimate against ANYBODY in a job advert, and certainly not for their eating habits.

No junk food-eating fat couch potatoes need apply. I don't think that would be allowed even if it was for an extremely hard manual job where the applicant would need to be very strong and energetic.

Anyway I don't suppose they can really know what people eat at home anyway!

I suppose it could be classed as a requirement just like having strong MS Access database skills.
