101 ways to cook a spud

Lets get some of the obvious out of the way first
1. Mash
2. Chips
3. Boiled
4. Steamed
5. roast
6. Jacket potato
and then onto the not so obvious
7. potato pancakes
blimey I am feeling a bit thick today that is all I can think of.

11. ooh and cut into thick wedges and baked in a greaseproof paper bag - ok, not good to waste paper but it does make the oven easier to clean
12. dauphinoise potatoes
13. boiled in their skins and roughly mashed with creme fraiche and garlic

16. useful if you have oversalted a dish... bung a whole potato in it and simmer til cooked then remove the potato. Food is then less salty.

As you can see, I can't read properly......
ways to cook a potato...
well... after cleaning your rusty knife with a bit of the potato, you could use the other part of the potato to make a potato hash.
After using the potatoes to make prints with (using beetroot juice as the edible paint) you could mash and then pipe the potato into rosettes - duchesse potato style !!

wrap whole washed potatoes in foil and bury (only a little) in hot coals. cook time varies according to how big the potatoes are. serve with butter.

boil and mash then use a flour to top a pie (potato flour popular in WW2)
slice very thinly and fry for home made crisps

Very brave spuds?
I think I gave two more German potato recipes for potatoes in the recipe section:
Kartoffelpuffer (similar to Roesti, but mixed with an egg, and eaten with apple sauce)
Quarkkeulchen (mashed potatoes mixed with egg and quark, and fried as rissoles)
potato and cheese cakes
potato and leek bake (and countless variations of this, if you want to get to 101 quickly!)
Did we have hash browns?
