As an internet shopper virgin, I would be very grateful if someone could suggest the best site for buying my supplies. I live about 10 miles from the nearest Wilko's and had a wasted journey there yesterday as they were out of stock of half the things I wanted! So I am going to be brave with your help!! pbf.

I have to admit to being one of the top posters on that forum, it's full of very helpful people like me :D

I order online from Wilko's. Delivery to one their shops - your choosing - is free. Delivery to the home is about £5. When I take the inconvenience, the petrol and, most of all, the parking fees into account - along with the fact that I have to carry my purchases from the shop to the car [add to that I'm in a wheelchair], then £5 delivery is cheaper than I can do it myself; especially if I turn up at the shop and they are out of stock.

One warning, though, their corks tend to crumble whilst being opened. One glance at a corkscrew and a white flag is waved halfway through! I think I'll be buying my corks elsewhere in future. Their general stock is really good and quite competitive. I have to admit, too, that their customer service department is excellent and if I've ever had any problems they have dealt with them in a polite and efficient manner. No, I do not work for Wilko's ... but credit given where it is due.

Make sure your yeast, and anything else you may use, is still fresh too.

Thankyou! I know what you mean about Wilkos. I live in qite a remote part of Sussex, and all shopping is a journey. You get there and the one thing you really need is out of stock. Delivery to your nearest store is a clever idea! Once you're there, you'll buy other things! pbf.

Theres a a bloke that writes one of the most informative and easy to read, series of on homewine making, that even I,who came last in an IQ test for 14yr old students, can nearly understand ( some of the big words I find hard ) and I have in fact made wine following his advice, but the cat is nearly better now, so I will try it later.

So thank you MKG for all your work and I must say I enjoy your writings, and am waiting for volume 3.
