Behind my house is a huge old airfield that is now used for livestock. It's ideal for the farmers because the old roads and runways mean they have good access to the animals during winter and the lambing season.

I was out walking the doggies and noticed that where the feeder had been there was a massive pile of manure where bullocks have been trampling in hay with their poop for months. It's the best manure I've ever seen and ready to dig in as there hasn't been any livestock in the field since well before xmas and should be free of pathogens by now.

I'm going to find space to compost as much as I can for future use, and the farmer gets his road cleared

Marvellous, can't beat a bit of good cowsh. Of course hosh is pretty good too
