I got a food dehydrator on freecycle... I haven't used it yet but will be on the look out for some good things to do with it... there are some good ideas in the booklet that came with it.... I'll post some of them once I get back home.
Still in Manchester at the moment... and enjoying the hot weather!!

Sorry for the time taken to get back to you, Al!
The books i have are -
Complete dehydrator cookbook - Mary Bell - william Morrow and Co - 1994 - USA - Very comprehensive!.
Drying Food - Ricky M. Gibling - Hyland house publishing - 1997 - Aus - a small book but some interesting stuff - like making your own dehydrated soup!
Drying fruit, Vegetables and Herbs - Doug Kneen - Victorian Dept of Agriculture - 1991 - a small book that covers the basics.
There is usually a bit on drying in any of the books on preserving food.
See how you go!

				thanks Wombat.
I've asked OH for the Mary Bell book for my birthday .
The only ones I could find in the local library were on commercial drying which were interesting but not very useful.

It's excellent. It tells me everything I need to know.
Ive been drying carrots to make carrot powder for soup and spring onions. Cant wait for my tomatoes to grow now.

I liked one called Dry It, You'll Like It, American, very good, nice recipes, instructions, plans, etc. Gave it away, but can't remember the author.
