Thought the Aberdeenshire lot might be interested in this - we'll go along in the evening!

www.warkfarm.co.uk

"The open day will take place as planned with a range of Oxford, Sandy & Black pork and bacon and Belted Galloway beef available. We shall be open from 10am – 3pm during the day on Wednesday the 17th and again in the evening of the 17th between 6pm and 9pm to coincide with the farm wildlife walk led by the Farming & Wildlife Advisory Group. The walk will be followed by a pay-as-you go barbeque of Wark Farm pork sausages and beef burgers. If you would like to join the walk it will start at 7pm from the farm yard and do bring appropriate warm clothing and wellies or boots - May is not always tropical at Cushnie and we may well go for a ‘splash’ through the wetland. Please do come along and join us and see the wildlife, its conservation and the environment our products come from. If you need directions to find us please send an email and we can email a map or alternatively give us a call.

We shall also be open for meat sales between 10am and 2pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday the same week (18th, 19th, & 20th May). We look forward to seeing you.

We are participating in the Telegraph Local Food Promotion over the summer, which is launched on the 6th May. We are offering a £5 discount on sales of £10 or more on presentation of the tokens collected. Unfortunately the details in the promotional booklet are not correct where it states we are internet sales only - the offer applies to all sales."

I like that - understatement of the year!

Why, oh why do these things happen in the middle of the week, when Joe Public is working? (At least most of the Joes and Jills.) Especially as there is this nationwide farm open day coming up...

Anyway, I'll see what I feel like on Wednesday. Sounds very interesting.

Oh I would have loved to have gone to that but would never manage to get to Cushnie in time because of work.

Ah well - let me know how the sausages taste - might be worth investigating buying some stuff from them.

Thanks for letting us know about it Shirlz.

I think I'd better give it a miss, too - it would just get too late, and I have to be up early again the next morning. As I said before, not particularly suitable for the working population.

yeah - tis an odd day for it isn't it.... weekend would be much better!!

It will mean keeping Jonathan up late... and I guess it will depend on the weather as to whether we go or not

If the weather is poor I might just pop over during the day instead.
