Has anyone had any experience with growing things from cuttings? I am going to try some barberry (Berberis thunbergii, I guess) . Any tips?

How about ivy from cuttings?

I haven't done too much from cuttings as my berberis was a little self-seeded plant - it self seeds easily so if you know anyone who has a berberis in their garden it might be worth looking for small plants.

With ivy - if you pull a bit up you should get some roots as it keeps on rooting as it spreads along the ground - so that should be very easy to root from cuttings!

I always try sticking cuttings into water for a few days/weeks, most will produce roots. I've propagated ivy like this.

Thanks. I'll try everything and see what works.
