One black current bush is in the garden. It grows well with the addition of compost yearly and mulch to retain moisture. No bugs or disease affect in my garden. It grows well and was started from a small cutting about four years ago. About 10 fruit bearing branches are supported with small ropes tied to a central post.It requires yearly pruning during the dormant stage usually mid winter. I usually make juice by adding water and making it a sufficient texture for drinking. Apparently the berries are supposed to be most nutritional. This is the first picking of the fruit in 2010.
