A poem what my old fellta writ...

He is a bit of a poet but a lazy one ... he wrote this for me one day when I came back from berry picking ... and it true hedgewitch style complete with twigs in my hair ...
Thought I would share, here.
Blackberries.
Blackberries,
Natures sweet bounty.
Searched for by eager eyes
`neath warm autumnal skies.
Eaten fresh with custard,
Cream, in warm light crusted pies.
This gift from Mother Earth
However, its harvest looks like fun
But you may disagree
When a bramble scores your bum.
And how the hawthorn soldiers` spears,
Prick juice stained
Embattled hands,
Now swollen, red and sore
Stung by a nettle,
The one you never saw.
Perhaps free food,
You may reflect,
In monetary terms,
Would be better left
To insects, birds and worms.
