This is the first time I have potted plants from the runners. Some are looking a bit wilted, is that normal? Is there anything I need to do to help them survive the winter? The ones in the ground look healthy. I have cut some from the parent plant but not all.

In my garden they grow like weeds... very hard to destroy !

I bought some strawberry plants online and they were delivered just after the last snow had cleared. I am not sure whetherto plant them out now or not as we are still getting hard frosts and the ground is more or less frozen, As a temporary measure I have placed them in tubs loosely surrounded by old compost in my cold unheated conservatory. These plants have ben supplied with bare roots, so I want to do the right thing to avoid any losses; any ideas?

They should be just fine like that, Roger.
Leave them with moist roots in the cold and plant them out when the frost has cleared (if it ever does )
You will probably see them start to grow, but as long as they don't grow too many new roots they will be OK.
If you're worried about them, you could always pot them up for now and plant them out in the spring after hardening off.
