Not sure if this has been asked before, I did a little search to no avail

My dog's totally vegetarian.

Could I put his waste onto my horse manure heap ?

Is there anything in his system that might make this a bad idea ?

not sure about the veggie dog thing but i would have a separate disposale method for the dog poo because there are buggy things and germ types that dont get distroyed by anabolic composting so if the resulting 'compost' is used on food crops the afor mentioned buggy and germy things may enter food chain so only use compost on flowers extra

We have a doggy poo composter. Plastic thing with slits in the bottom you bury in the ground. The nettles around it have gone mad. Dog poo must be nitrogen rich stuff!

Our dogs used to poo on the muck heap at our stables, we used the manure on veg and it was fine - they were meat eaters, although I wouldn't recommend it - we were never ill!

Our dog only 'goes' when we're out walking (we live out in the country) and it (his poo) disappears after a couple of days. In fact, there are loads of dogs taken for walks down this road and you would be hard pressed to find any poo. I believe slugs eat it.

Nonetheless, if I collected it I would put it on the humanure heap.
