Is there any chance a propergator will hatch poultry eggs???

Hi,
I know that I put a similar post like this, but this will be very handy, I cannot make one using a light bulb because of personal reasons.
So, for example if I put in about 10 - 12 eggs in the propergator how many will hatch into chicks or ducklings?
Thank you.
Abba

Probably none, unless you can maintain a steady temperature of around 37.5 C and turn them several times each day, while keeping the humidity at around 45% for the first 18 days rising to 65% for the last 3 days.
The humidity and turning is do-able with care, but unless you have a thermostatically controlled propagator that can be set that high, I think you will have problems.
Stick a max/min thermometer in the propagator and see what it's like over a 24 hour period, that will soon tell you.
Good luck.

As with the previous answer, the main problems encountered are humidity and turning.
Many years ago I had a used a homemade propagating unit with limited success.
For further reading you could checkout a web page
http://www.gb-online.co.uk/incubating.html I put together very quickly at the time (just in case I forgot what I had done).
Bit technical thou.

as suggested, check the temperature.. if it keeps the right temp fairly consistently you could give it a go, so long as you turned the eggs at least 3 times a day, and sprayed them with tepid water each time too.
personally I doubt it would work.
as for how many you would get? well you know that old saying about not counting your chickens until they are hatched?...
it depends. if they are all fertile.. still something can go wrong. if the eggs are posted that sometimes messes them up.
Ducks eggs are harder than chickens to hatch.. so start with some inexpensive chicken ones.. so long as the temperature is right...
