Many thanks to OJ for sending me this - sorry can't find the original thread which said who I was meant to send it on to - have a feeling it was Milims? If so please PM me your address and I will happily forward it.

An excellent book - admittedly struggled with the first 1/3 which is mainly philosophical and explores the theory behind consumerism and where it goes wrong.

But the remainder was beautiful - it really helped me calm down and come to the realisation that it really is OK not to buy stuff I don't need. Lots of descriptions of people who live happily with nothing and really thought provoking quotes and stories.

Should be compulsory reading at secondary schools. :study:

Sounds really interesting! I might have a look out for a copy. I love a bit of philosophy ;-).

Might I suggest 'Enough' (Breaking free from the world of excess) by John Naish as another must read. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

I read Timeless Simplicity by John Lane after it was recommended reading on here. An excellent read, I really enjoyed it. I only wish I had the courage to live it...
