Wark farm, Cushnie, Aberdeenshire

Shirley and I visited it today! Wow what a great place! Right in the middle of the Strathdon hills. 200 acres of organic farm - pigs, belted galloways, geese, ducks (and pretty sure I spotted some guinea fowl too) and hebredian sheep. They are obviously passionate about what they do and showed us around the place and explained what they are trying to do.

Interestingly, first thing I spotted was the bio fuel heating system - running on excess grain at the moment! Look forward to investigating that more in the near future.

Had a lovely time today and YES you did see guinea fowl... you weren't seeing things.

We are hoping to see him posting on the forum too (yes, I wore my teeshirt again!!!)

Will have to check out that farm, too - sounds like my kind of place. Well, one of these days, when I have no lambs to feed, the goats are happy to stay inside, and I've not just had an accident... :mrgreen:
