Moving Rainwater

There are four barrels (200 US Gallons) on each side of the house collecting rainwater. Once collected it is difficult to move to where required. My method is to dip the water out of a barrel and place in a wheelbarrow. The wheelbarrow has a milk carrying container in the bottom to act as a baffle to limit spillage while wheeling to the area of the garden where the water is required. The method is reasonably efficient and quick. It beats carrying 200 gallons of water in five gallon pails.

Have you seen the device which fits into a wheelbarrow to move water....think its called H2Go....

can you interlink the 4 barrels, then fit a tap to one of them, attatch a hose & let the water gravity feed to the required location.

I have tried siphon, and sump pump. carrying in five gallon pails. All were wanting. Particularly in time and effectness.
Hose watering is usually a waste of time. Seldom if ever does the water penetrate to the roots. Watering other than grass.which usually is not required, does almost nothing beneficial.
Proof: After you water dig a hole nearby and check.

Looks like a good method to me, I was wondering why you had the crate in the barrow and then it dawned on me lol.
