A friend sent a piece of root (Japanese horseradish), which was planted in the greenhouse on 14 November 2011. The plant has survived below Zero temperature and grew very well. It will be planted in the outdoor garden about the end of April in a relatively shady area.This is a new plant for me.

I read that it is very hard to grow; if I were you, I wouldn't plant all of it outside. Keep some in the greenhouse and try some in a window sill?
