My mum and dads garden is full of borage plants at the moment, has anyone made wine from the flowers?

Thanks

Stoney

1 litre water 1.2kg sugar boil cool add to flowers add 1 tsp yeast 1tsp yeast nutrients juice of 2 lemons a strong cup of black tea

I made borage flower wine and it tasted odd, and not in a nice way

I tried it after reading a source that said the Elizabethans made a wine from borage flower that 'maketh the heart merry'

Could never drink enough to put that one to the test due to odd flavour

It tasted so odd that I think I still have a few bottles after maybe 15 years

Then there was the swede wine...

Thanks for the heads up, it was the possibility of it being blue that was appealing also. I will give it a miss. Do you have any other suggestions for Borage as it's there every year and it seems a shame not to use it!
