Why is there so much sport on Radio 5 Live when there's a Radio 5 Live SPORTS station?

Because originally Radio 5 was only one station and all the sport went on it. It's a nice hangover when the test cricket takes up 5 extra for days on end for those of you who aren't interested in cricket.

Listen to radio 6 instead
It's great and its one extra
