Fortunately for me, my friends moved house and had no room for their 4 hens & a cockerel so I have inherited them! I have no idea what breeds they are. The little white guy is the cockerel. Have only managed to photograph the 3 as the other 2 ladies like to hide in the bushes! They have a large outside area that runs all the way around that barn but they seem quite happy to stay in there all day! Already making plans to increase the amount of hens to let breed and perhaps have some for the table. We get 2 or 3 eggs a day. Theyre definitely great fun!

Congratulations !
You will definitely have something to breed from ..
And your rooster is a Silky, well known breed for their tendency to go broody and making great parents ..

Brilliant
I bet they are happy with all that space to run around in.

Well done and I hope you have many a happy hour and lots of laughs with your chooks! Those dark ones look like the standard 'from a French market' breed to me (I've got a couple like that, plus a couple of the red ones)!

Thanks everyone! Good to know the breeds. Cant believe the different foods they will eat - theres not much left for the compost heap!
