Is it too late ...Green manure

It's too late to plant green manure. But does anyone have any experience of planting this late and all being good?

The only experiance I have, is that I scattered some mustard seeds the other day... just to try, it might not work, but I thought, what the hey.
I am sure that they won't be as good as if I had planted the a month or 2 ago but better late than never... maybe.

They say its going to be a cold winter. I don't know how much germination you'd be getting now. Seeds though could provide additional food for the birdies.
Then again, last winter wasn't all that cold. You might be able to get away with it.
Perhaps you could fleece/cover it?

september is normally the latest and start again in march

Mine have sprouted
I just chucked them in... I guess I dig the greenery in in spring?

well hope fully they should be ok but not sure if a frost would kill them it depends what type of green manure and how much space you have ie if you need the ground dig them in a few weeks before if not let the, grow but dig them in before they flower. read this from one of the experts
