a freind of my daughter gave her some eggs from her mixtrue of back yard chickens TO EAT a few weeks back, but my daughter (whos 10) wanted to hatch them rather than eat them, so we put them in the incubator (borrowed) and away we went, here are some photos of how it went ...

only 6 out of the 12 hatched, but 5 were hens and one cockral, cant wait for the day when we have eggs for breakfast :) :)

Paxo!!! What are you like LOL.

Great pics... and not a bad hatch either if you only got 1 cockerel out of them.

Lovely selection do you know what they are (breed)

Did you even know they were fertile???... is it common to eat fertilised eggs? I thought that a hen would know and would be sitting tight???

It is to stop them falling in the water and drowning.

You have a smart daughter. That was a brilliant idea and now you can have your own eggs. Great!
