can someone please identify this animal for me,
one of our dogs had it in their mouth but i managed to rescue him before any damage was done, and we put him in a box to calm down. a few hours later we tried to let him go, we put him on a tree in our garden and he came back to us, like he dint kow what to do on the tree??
now we cant get rid of him , he keeps heading tothehouse and the dogs will eat him if they saw him

there are no neighbours by us, so i didnt think he was an escaped pet. but he is very very tame and just wants to sit on us,

please help

that's a tiny grey squirrel!
Most local vets in our area will take in wild animals like that, and place them in suitable accommodation

There are loads in the parks in Glasgow that are very tame indeed, they get fed that way... I used to have a photo of one taking a nut that my brother was holding in teeth

The ones in Princes street gardens are apparently partial to salt and vinegar hoola hoops

And the ones in Kelvingrove Park are not averse to the odd human toe or two...

(I had one nibbling away at my feet once, on a sunny day, when I was sitting in the park reading!)

Definitely a squirrel - and the buggers in Kelvingrove Park once ate my sandwiches. Hey - come on - aren't they gorgeous? You're Mum and Dad, Hopefuls.

Possibilty he's been hand-reared somewhere, might be an idea to let the local vets know in case they're aware of someone who's lost a greyie

Grey squirrels are so cute when they're young! They can be viscious when they panic, so be careful!

well i tried several times to chuck him out , put him on trees, went back in the house, only to watch him climb down and head towards the back door

what a shame for him

i phoned various places up to ask for advice, only to b told he is vermin and its £1000 fine to let him go

it would be cruel to keep him too

a lady in manchester is going to look after him, he looks after hedgehogs too.

he has had his supper and a drink and he snuggled into a blanket

baby squirrels, dont ever let them set eyes on you, they think your their mum lol

so we off on a 3 hour trek on saturday to take him to a home whee he can be looked after :)

they are vermin unfortunatly and foreign ones at that, they kill the young trees by stripping the bark and so destroy our native woodlands, and the
deases they carry kill our native red squirrels!

but saying all that...they are cute and fun to watch when they play
