I spend many of my days doing that. Then moan in the evening that I got nothing done. Only to spend the very next day pottering all over again.

That's exactly how I spend my time, except I do alot of "looking stuff up online" and drink much more tea.

My pottering/procrastinating reached new heights recently when I thought "must make a cup of tea, then I'll really get on with some work". Went off, did something else, made cup of tea, sat down & found a cup of tea I'd made just 10 minutes before ...

Ratty (soya milk, one sweetener, not got any sweeteners? go on then, bit of sugar will do!)

I often make a cup of tea when I'm cooking (since I'm heating up a hot-plate anyway), then realise I'd poured myself a glass of wine!
I got up at 9.30am so I could do some work... tis now 1pm and I know a bit more about operating systems, have read the paper on-line and have drunk 3 cups of tea.
Now I really am going to work!

That sound awfully familiar
Another problem I have is forgetting the time - not a huge problem since I am not on anyones clock, have no appointments, etc. But I am always saying "Oh, is that the time already.... time for another cup of tea

"

That sounds like my typical day as well. I may change my occupational designation to "potterer".

Nearly 12 hours on... I really haven't done much... maybe 1200 words, and I'd already done all the research, and written them out on paper. I just typed them really.
Tomorrow I am *not* connecting to this forum. I shall check my emails *once*, facebook no more than twice, and my procrastination shall not amount to more than 2 cups of tea and hoovering the bathroom.
I promise.

It would appear there may be some difficulty distinguishing pottering from the early onset of Alzheimer's

Pottering is brilliant! I spend all of my days doing that.... and I plan it at work (because my work is boring and I need something to amusie my time) forget that I'm going to do when walking home form work and start planning all over again... with a cup of tea.... oh dear!!!
PS Brij, if you ever need a new avatar... this one I think is perfect, reminded me of some of your posts!!!!! hehe!!!
