The Selfsufficientish free to enter competition

buckingham palaceWe have been generously offered a whole host of prizes for this summers free to enter competition. The competition is to promote our 30 articles in June drive, to celebrate our 2nd Birthday and also just because we got given free stuff. Have a look below for a list of all of our prizes and what you have to do to enter. THE PRIZES

What you have to do to enter

Entrants must have found a way to include selfsufficientish.com in a (local) press release or article, allotment/horticultural society publication (again local), College Newsletter, local televison (if you are under 16 and want to enter then a school/scout/guide/summer school project will be fine) or even on a blog entry. The most imaginative/ creative and/or successful wins. We will also accept photos of banners, flags etc that you have made and displayed in a prominant place.

The winners will not be picked out by my gerbil this year as myself and Dave will be judging. If we can't decide then we shall put it to a vote on the forum.

Proof will be needed a copy of the release publication or a tape of the radio broadcast/TV broadcast will do the job. If you can email your entries here or post tapes ect to Selfsufficientish, Rock House, 131 Hayward Road, Barton Hill, Bristol, BS5 9PY. Please send recorded delivery as I am sure some of our post goes missing, we only ever seem to get red bills, never any nice stuff!

The competition is open to anyone in any country of any age. We will also accept multiple entries but as we like to be fair, only one prize per person will be given out. The overall winner will get first dibs on what they want from this list, after that each person will get a choice from what is left until all the prizes have been given away.

The closing date is Saturday 30th September 2006 at 12 noon.

The prizes include.......

Dig for Victory DVD and a packet of Thompson & Morgan Sun Bright runner beans

Dig for Victory was a hugely successful key government campaign launched during World War II, urging people to cultivate their own gardens, local parks and allotments in a bid to increase food production.

This special Royal Horticultural Society DVD brings the reality of wartime gardening to life through interviews, archive footage, images and recollections from members of the Women's Land Army and those who helped to Dig for Victory. If you don't think you stand a chance in the competition or simply don't want to enter but are still interested in the dig for victory DVD for £11.99 (free p&p) then call 0845 123 2312 and quote Self Sufficientish or follow this link.  It is important that you do quote self sufficientish as you will get a £5 discount.

3 copies of the 21st century Smallholder by Paul Wadington

This book could have been written by us, well we might have made some spelling mistakes and bits of the grammar might have been awful. It is a book that covers a lot of we do here on the website. In a nut shell it is a contemporary version John Seymore's classic the complete guide to self sufficiency, it will make a welcome and useful edition to anyones book collection. In fact we were given 5 but myself and Dave had to keep one each for ourselves.

A signed copy of The building of the Green Valley by Stuart Peachey

This has only just been published and we are awaiting for a copy for review. Watch this space.

3 Self sufficientish tote bags

Also soon to be on sale to go with the carry a bag campaign. Still waiting for the first batch to be delivered so can show a picture or anything yet.
